Feast of the Americas

A journey into the golden age of Hispanic-American music.

Imagine a moment when the baroque echoes of the Spanish viceroyalties in America blend with the mestizo rhythms of a New World bursting into artistic bloom. It is this splendor—born within the exuberant cathedrals of the Hispanic-American metropolises of that era, true capitals of the baroque world—that we invite you to discover on February 15, 2026, within the Parisian setting of the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary of the Spanish Mission of Paris (Paris 16).

The ensemble Musica Reservata (Venezuela), under the inspired direction of talented conductor and singer Sandra Silvio, joins in dialogue with Sotto Voce, led by conductor and singer Jesús Zambrano, to present an exceptional program: Spain’s Golden Age bestowing upon the world the first polyphonies composed on the American continent in Quechua and Nahuatl, the mesmerizing chaconnes and melodies of Tomás de Torrejón y Velasco, the dancing cachuas from the Codex Martínez de Compañón, and the polyrhythmic chants of Juan de Araujo and Gaspar Fernández.

This repertoire is far more than a magnificent page of history: it is our true musical and cultural DNA, carried through concerts across countries and years, now uniting us in Paris with shared passion.

Offered to the Parisian public, this unique treasure weaves European baroque fervor with Hispanic-American melodies and rhythms—a living richness whose echoes still resonate today: an evening of communion where every note becomes an invitation to the joy of living and singing.
